Intussusception

If you suspect instussusception in a patient and the pain is now gone, the child should be fine, right? Not exactly....

The diagnosis is missed in about 50% of cases on initial presentation. If untreated it can lead to bowel isachaemia, necrosis and perforation and septic shock.
